Next steps in conducting research at PW!
A few months ago, the first implementation of the proprietary BioCloner Desktop Pro took place at the Warsaw University of Technology. Since then, under the supervision of Dr. hab. Beata Butruk-Rasza, students have been using the device to test their solutions and conduct research for their thesis projects
Intensive work is being carried out under the supervision of assistant supervisor Jakub Knap-Wardzyński, who oversees the research processes. The tests focus on the area of 3D bioprinting using bacterial cellulose. With its help, students are working on creating a special bio-ink, a biomaterial containing live cells, and are also studying the conditions that are favorable for its printing. This bio-ink may, in the future, be used, among other things, to create realistic models of tissues or organs.
